License Terms

Last updated: February 2025

The Deal

When you buy samples on DIGR, you get a royalty-free license to use them in your music. You can release tracks commercially, stream them, sync them to video — the works. You don't own the original samples, but you can use them forever.

One purchase = one person. If you're a team or studio, each person needs their own license.

✓ You CAN

  • Use samples in your productions
  • Release music commercially (streaming, sales, sync)
  • Chop, edit, process, and transform samples
  • Use in unlimited projects
  • Use in beats you sell or lease
  • Use in video content (YouTube, film, ads)
  • Keep your license forever

✕ You CANNOT

  • Resell samples as-is (as a sample pack)
  • Redistribute or share with others
  • Claim you created the original samples
  • Use in competing sample platforms
  • Transfer your license to someone else
  • Include in template/construction kits for resale

💡 Credit is appreciated but not required. If you want to shout out the sample creator, they'd love that — but it's not mandatory.

Commercial Use

Yes, commercial use is included. You can:

No extra fees. No royalties to pay. That's the whole point.

Beat Makers & Producers

If you make beats for other artists:

Free Samples

Free samples on DIGR have the same license terms as paid samples. The only difference is the price — your rights are identical.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use samples in songs I release on streaming platforms?
Yes! That's exactly what this license is for. Release on Spotify, Apple Music, wherever — you're covered.
Do I need to credit the sample creator?
No, credit is not required. However, many creators appreciate a shoutout if you're willing. It's a nice gesture but totally optional.
Can I use the same sample in multiple songs?
Yes, unlimited projects. One purchase covers everything you ever make with that sample.
Can I share samples with my band/collaborators?
The license is for one person. If multiple people in your team will be using the samples directly, each person needs their own license. However, if you make a beat and share the finished track (not the raw samples), that's fine.
What if someone claims my song uses their sample?
If you purchased the sample from DIGR, you have a valid license. Keep your purchase receipt. We can verify your license if needed for disputes.
Can I put samples in a Splice/Loopcloud/sample service?
No. You cannot redistribute samples on other sample platforms or services, even if modified.
What happens if a creator removes their pack?
Your license is permanent. Even if a pack is removed from DIGR, your rights to samples you purchased remain intact forever.
